RiseUP is thrilled to be partnering with Manchester to install the Civil Rights Mural on the side of the Leisure Lab at the Mahoney Center.
Last year around this time we were celebrating yet another successful Early Childhood Fair, with
approximately 300 Manchester residents in attendance. The Manchester Early Childhood Fair
provides information on everything from local preschools to college savings to recreation. This
year is very different, and although we cannot have large, in-person events, we are able to
share out exclusive content to Manchester families such as videos and an all-inclusive list of
preschool and daycare options with links to contact forms and websites.
Beginning March 15, residents can resume setting out paper lawn bags for curbside collection during their normal refuse/recycling collection.

During the month of February, the Youth Service Bureau offered a remote family service project called, “Valentines for Veterans.” Covid-19 has been especially difficult for Veterans receiving inpatient and outpatient care due to family visitation restrictions and social distancing.
The Town’s most recent mural installation at Mahoney Center pays homage to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a large scale, multi-color portrait of the historic leader of the civil rights movement. Since the mural’s completion on MLK Jr. Day this past January, there has been a great outpouring of public support for the art piece and a call for additional art murals in town.
To celebrate Black History Month, the Neighborhoods and Families Division would like to observe February as a month of reflection. Without our complicated past , we would not be able to have
our present or have a future that is even brighter than today.
