Nico Arias is a Recreation Supervisor with the Department of Leisure, Family and Recreation. He oversees management and execution of Better Manchester Magazine and Better Manchester Online as well as numerous other marketing and communication initiatives for the division and department. He enjoys hiking, camping and all things outdoors.

The Recreation Division is pleased to unveil a new art gallery on the North-end of Manchester; the Tiny Gallery, open Wednesdays from 4:30-7:30 PM.

Cruisin’ on Main Street is back! After a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic Cruisin’ will return to Downtown Manchester on Sunday, August 1 ( rain dates August 8 and August 15 ) from 10am to 3pm.
Participate in the first Faerie Door Trail to be discovered along the trails of Northwest Park, Manchester CT. Individuals, families, and groups are invited to create a door and become a part of something special!
On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, under a sunny early evening sky, about 50 people including lots of local dignitaries gathered on the lawn in front of Buckley Elementary School for a groundbreaking ceremony signaling the start of an approximately $28 million renovation project that will make Buckley the first ‘net zero energy’ public school building in the state.
A FREE youth bike safety course on Saturday, June 12th just for Manchester residents ages 5 to 12. This hour long course will teach kids everything from proper helmet fitting, bike safety checks, obstacle avoidance, start and stopping, signaling, and much more! Registration required. Presented by Webster Bank, the Hartford Marathon Foundation, Bike Walk Bolton, and the Town of Manchester.
