Call for Concepts – Pups in OurParks

MANCHESTER, CT – Calling all early, midcareer, professional, and underrepresented artists! Showcase your creativity by submitting an original concept to paint a canine sculpture as part of the Manchester Bicentennial Celebration in 2023. Selected artists will be compensated for their work and honored for their contribution to the celebration. Don‘t miss this unique opportunity submit your concept today!

Public art installation of 10 canine sculptures painted by artists. Artists are asked to submit an original concept in the shape of a standing dog – outlines to be provided. Successful artists will be contacted and paid a stipend upon completion.

Selection Process

The selection process will involve a review of the submitted images and a discussion between the sponsors and the project team. The selection process will be conducted in a timely manner and the results will be announced within a few weeks of the submission deadline. The panel will review the image concepts and make a recommendation to the sponsoring organizations regarding the selection of the final images.

Once the selection process is complete, the chosen concepts may be used to create promotional materials, including brochures, banners, and other materials. The images may be used on the project’s website, social media accounts, and other online platforms. The images may also be shared with the media for further promotion of the project. Artists retain all rights to the final design but will allow for the reproduction of the images for promotions for the Town of Manchester.
