Tim Wengertsman  AKA Tim Tanker

“I draw what I love and the people I love. It’s the way I see the world.” -Tim Wengertsman.  People, places, and experiences are the influences that have carved their way into the art of a life lived both past and present beginning in Manchester, CT, and thriving now in Lovell, Maine.  Clearly not images representing the more traditional, but rather bringing a voice to those who have been frowned upon by some and lived by others.  Daring to expose raw emotions in a visual presentation, Tim Wengerstman creates images that stand up to social injustices such as homophobia, sexism, and racism. The Byzantine era of art has given an iconic style to the images he carves from wood, and prints by hand,  one by one.

“I use symbols and inside jokes that only people close to me would understand. These symbols are the most important things in my history.” – Tim Wengertsman AKA Tim Tanker

“Sometimes my woodcuts have oddly subconsciously anticipated events in my life…”
