Department Holiday Hours & Program Reminders
Throughout the month of December, the Department of Leisure, Family, and Recreation will adhere to modified recreation center & office hours. If you have any questions regarding these modified hours, please contact the Recreation Department’s Main Office at (860) 647-3084.

Starting January 4th, weekday operating hours will change to 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
Manchester High School Pool:

All facilities and services will return to regular hours starting on Monday, January 3rd.
In addition to modified holiday hours, the Department of Leisure, Family & Recreation has opened registration for upcoming winter/spring programming. Registration can be done online, over the phone at (860)647-3084, or in person at the Manchester Community Y, the Leisure Labs at Mahoney Center, or the Center Springs Main Office.
The winter/spring season, which includes programming from January through May, has dozens of classes, programs, and special events for the entire family to enjoy. As we head into the new year, there are a variety of upcoming events, including:
- Snow Day (January 6, 10 AM – 2 PM, Youth Service Bureau, 63 Linden Street)
- Come on out for some cold weather activities, including sledding, crafts & lunch! Questions? Please email Sheridan Douglass.
- Black History Month Author Talk: Robert Harris (February 2, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM, Culture Lab at Mahoney Center, 110 Cedar Street)
- Author Robert Harris will give a free talk about his book Historical Moments: Military Contributions of African Americans. Q&A to follow; signed books will be available for purchase.
- Black History Month Celebration (February 18, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Culture Lab at Mahoney Center, 110 Cedar Street)
- Join us in the celebration of Black History Month. This night will include special speakers & performers, food, and children’s activities. Let’s honor & celebrate Black History together as a united Manchester community.
