Little Free Library Guest Book Inspires Manchester Community

In October of 2020, The Manchester Cheney Rail Trail Free Little Library officially opened to the community and has been fully stocked with a wide variety of books since.

Book lovers, trail lovers, families, bikers, couples, children, and so many others have found and fallen in love with the new Little Free Library located on the Cheney Rail Trail.

Located at the trail entrance near the corner of Woodland St and Hawthorne St, this addition to the trail has been warmly welcomed by all who encounter it.

Don’t believe it? Just take a look at the guest book.

Stephanie M., a 6 year Manchester resident, lives near the trail and decided to open the library during quarantine as a project for herself and “to give back to the community.” She decided to add a guest book to give visitors a direct way to connect with her and one another.

Manchester community, however, took it one step further and turned it into an amazing place for expressing gratitude, positive thoughts and wishes, and stories about the impact the books have had on their lives.

The messages speak for themselves.

Stephanie says that if the library continues being a success she is considering “adding an additional compartment closer to the ground specifically just for children’s books, so that kids will be able to reach it at their level.”
