UR Community Cares Programs in Manchester
UR Community Cares is continuing to grow as a nonprofit that offers community and in-home support to older and disabled residents in Manchester. As a Physical Therapist I have a passion for health and next month we are including more health-related content in the Tech Center programming. We have some exciting news that we will be able to share next month, stay tuned!
Our October Tech Center calendar is filled with learning and community events throughout the month.
We are hosting and helping to facilitate Manchester’s first Parkinson’s Disease Support Group, beginning on Oct 8th 10:30am-12pm, please share with those that may be interested.
On October 10th we have a
great community event with CVS Health bringing their RV onsite to offer free
screenings, all are welcome. Their RV will be outside, and their team will
conduct screenings in the RV and provide valuable information for the
community. That same day, 10/10 at
10:30am-12pm inside the Tech Center, we have a member of VIF Care discussing, VIF
(vifcare.com) their app that
is being used by police depts/Special Olympics/towns to keep people with
special needs/adults safe and we will have an Autism doctor come in to discuss
how families can observe the early signs and help caregivers care for people
with special needs.
If you would like to present in the Tech Center in the future, please let me know and we hope you can join us for an event. Please contact me if you would like to discuss more about our programs.
Additionally, on our website www.URCommunityCares.org you can see our new Blind/Vision Impaired Directory that is now available in Spanish, and all of our upcoming events, let me know if you would like to join us. More good stuff coming soon!
If you would like to share about our
volunteer in-home program, here is more information:
UR Community Cares program “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” is dedicated to assisting residents who are 70 years of age and/or physically disabled adults, ensuring they can safely, independently, and comfortably remain in their homes.
Join their team of volunteers at www.URCommunityCares.org to become a friendly visitor, lend a helping hand with new
technology, play a game, take a furry friend for a walk during post-surgery
recovery, provide medical transportation for follow-up appointments, or whip up
a comforting meal. Your involvement can make a meaningful difference! For more
information or questions, reach out to them at 860-430-4557.
