Manchester Home Energy Action: Save money–and the
planet!
Two ways to save!
The Manchester Sustainability Commission has partnered with
the sponsors of Energize Connecticut (Eversource & Connecticut Natural Gas)
to bring residents two opportunities to save on their energy bills this summer:

Home Energy Solutions- Income Eligible
o
Program is available at no cost[1]
for households with a total income at or below 60% of the State’s median.
Others can participate for a $75 copay.
o
For residents of properties with 1-4 units
o
An average savings of $180 per year after
participating. Additional weatherization can lead to more savings.
o
Services including safety tests on
furnace/boiler, sealing drafts and air leaks, water-saving measures, and
others.
o
Connections to discounts and rebates for
additional energy-saving projects, such as insulation and ENERGY STAR certified
windows and appliances.

Multifamily Initiative
o
For property owners of residential buildings
with 5+ units
o
Customized solutions for multifamily buildings
or complexes to elevate the property’s energy efficiency and overall appeal.
o
Technical assistance for energy efficiency
projects
o
Financing and incentives for energy efficiency
upgrades, including: air sealing, lighting and lighting controls, insulation
and windows, HVAC system improvements and controls, and others.

Connecticut programs are funded by a charge on customer energy bills. The Town
of Manchester is participating in the Energize Connecticut Community
Partnership Initiative, sponsored locally by Eversource and CNG to increase
participation in energy efficiency programs.
