As the fall season continues to ramp up, so does the programming slate from the Town of Manchester’s Department of Leisure, Family and Recreation. Check out the below program listings for a sampling of the many fall programs and special events available over the coming weeks.

Recreation Division
Indoor Basketball & Soccer
The Recreation Division is hosting indoor basketball and soccer, starting on the dates listed below. Registration is ongoing and space is limited. Both programs will be held at the Leisure Labs at Mahoney Center, 110 Cedar
Both programs are set-up to teach your child the fundamentals of the game. They will learn about sportsmanship, team-work, ball skills, defense and the value of winning and losing. Register online or call 860-647-3088.
- Fundamental Basketball (6-7yo):
- S1: 6:00 PM, 12/9/22
- S2: 7:00 PM, 12/9/22
- CO-ED Youth Basketball (8-9yo):
- Evaluation: 11/9/22 @ 6:00 PM

- CO-ED Indoor Soccer (5-6yo):

Save the Date: Swim with Santa
Come and enjoy free time with Santa! Santa will visit the pool for a fun morning of splashing and swimming with your children. Parents must accompany young children or non-swimmers in the water. Bring your cameras! Participants must have a valid pool pass to be presented when entering to swim.

- Fee: Please bring a non-perishable food donation to support the MACC Food Pantry
Save the Date: Holiday in the Park
Our annual Holiday in the Park is back and we cannot wait to see all the smiling faces again! This drive through event will be filled with music, characters, treats and a surprise! Make sure to follow our social media accounts so you are up to date about this event!

- Ages: All ages welcome

Youth Service Bureau
Teen Center & Discussion Group
The Teen Centers offers a place for youth to come together and socialize with their peers in a structured, supervised environment. Students can play video games, pool, food ball, board games, or participate in a variety of other creative and interactive activities.
Pizza is served after group discussion. Teens who attend the program 10 or more times will be eligible for prizes such as movie tickets, gift cards and more! Please call Shakir Leacock at (860)647-5223 or by email at [email protected] with any questions.

- Ages: 7th-12th grade

Creative Writing
This program will encourage and challenge students to express themselves through the written medium. Students will collaborate and critique each other’s work in order to sharpen their skills and emphasize teamwork and communication. Students will choose their favorite works to go into a collaborative book.

Neighborhoods & Families Division
Northwest Park Farmers Market
The Town of Manchester’s Northwest Park Farmers Market final 2022 market runs rain or shine on Wednesday, October 26 from 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Northwest Park, 448 Tolland Turnpike.
Vendor selections are thoughtfully curated to include diverse Connecticut business owners & products including fresh fruits & vegetables, meats & eggs, baked goods, vegan offerings, honey, maple syrup, and artisans. See the weekly vendor lineup at the Northwest Park Farmers Market’s Facebook page.
Featured Food Truck (10/26): Hungry Lion (gluten-free protein bowls)
In addition to serving as a source of local foods, the market accepts SNAP/EBT and WIC payments and will double the value of SNAP purchases up to $20 (spend $20 using your EBT card, receive an additional $20 to spend on SNAP-eligible items). This program is sponsored by End Hunger CT! and CT Fresh Match.
New to this year’s market: the Power of Produce (POP) program. Every child who visits the Welcome Table will receive a $2 voucher to spend on produce! This program is sponsored by the Manchester Early Learning Center (MELC).
