Manchester Next: Planapalooze
The Town of Manchester and consultant, Town Planning and Urban Design Collaborative, invite the public to attend the Manchester Next PlanapaloozaTM events May 16–19. PlanapaloozaTM will be an opportunity for you to work directly with friends, family, neighbors, Town staff and officials, and a team of talented planners to build a stronger future for the Town of Manchester. On the first day of PlanapaloozaTM (May 16) the team will hold two technical meetings during the day at WORK_SPACE. All technical meetings are open to the public and intended to be a place where residents can share their hopes and concerns related to transportation, economy, housing, parks and recreation, character, growth, development, conservation, history, and sustainability. Monday evening, the team will hold the Opening Presentation and Hands–on Workshop at 6:00 pm in the Manchester High School Cafeteria, 134 Middle Turnpike E.
The first two full days (May 17–18) of PlanapaloozaTM will feature additional Technical Meetings. A full schedule of these meetings is on the website. All technical meetings will be held in person at WORK_SPACE – 903 Main Street. A recording of these meetings will be posted on the website the following week for those that were unable to attend.
For the entirety of the PlanapaloozaTM, the Team and participating Town Staff will be working in a temporary design studio on Main Street, located at WORK_SPACE – 903 Main Street. Any citizen, business owner or official who wishes to join in and provide comments, suggestions, or simply watch us work, will be able to stop by at their own convenience between 9 am-2 pm on May 16, between 9 am-7 pm May 17 & 18, and 9 am-12 pm on May 19. Our Team members will be available to engage with the community, ask questions and accept feedback and ideas.
On the final evening of PlanapaloozaTM, the Team will present their findings so far, and begin to discuss how community input has begun to shape the recommendations that will likely be in the updated Plan of Conservation and Development. This meeting will be held at 6:00 pm on May 19 in the Manchester High School Cafeteria, 134 Middle Turnpike E. or virtually through zoom.
An interactive website, yvmmct.com/manchesternext, has been developed to provide more information and offer the community an opportunity to provide feedback throughout the planning process. The website has a number of features including, forums and discussions. A detailed schedule for PlanapaloozaTM and links to register if you want to participate via Zoom are also available on the website.
