Meet the new Content Creator for the Town Communications Department: Estefany Alvarez
Estefany is a 25 year old, lifelong resident of Manchester. After moving to Manchester at 2 years old from Medellin, Colombia with her family, Estefany would go on to attend Waddell Elementary School, Illing Middle School, and Manchester High School.
While attending MHS, Estefany took a video production class as an elective and discovered a passion for storytelling almost immediately. She went on to join the Broadcast Journalism program and eventually major in Communications at Eastern Connecticut State University.
After graduating with her Bachelor’s of Science in Communications in 2018 from ECSU, Estefany worked in the Higher Education and Non-profit sectors where she successfully launched several social media campaigns and community events to spread awareness of their programs. She has also contributed to various digital marketing projects for small companies to increase visibility to their target audience. Graphic design, photography, videography, copywriting, and creating and maintaining community participation are just some of her professional competencies.
As a Content Creator, Estefany will work closely with the Town’s Communications Office to bring a creative perspective to initiatives and help support the long-term goals of better informing, connecting, and engaging with the Manchester community.
“We are thrilled to have Estefany join the team in Manchester,” said Brianna Smith Communications Manager. “Her content creation experience and passion for community engagement will make a long-lasting impact in Manchester.”
Estefany is the mother to an amazing three year son and eight year old rescue pup. She enjoys cooking and playing the ukulele in her free time, and is ecstatic to be able to contribute her talents back to the community that helped raised her.
