Cheer for All at Holiday in the Park
On December 19th the Department of Leisure, Family and Recreation held its first annual Holiday in the Park event at Northwest Park. Santa Clause and a few of his friends took time out of their busy schedule to stop at the park to spread some holiday spirit. The turnout was amazing and we want to thank everyone who came out on that chilly morning to support us. All of the children (and children at heart) in attendance received special snowman soup and activity boxes via our Rec on the Run Program. We also partnered with the Christ Church of the Living God who came and distributed toys, hats and gloves to everyone. It was a pleasure working with the Church and we look forward to working again with them in the future.
We would also like to give a huge thank you to our Parks Division for clearing the foot of snow we received two days earlier in order for us to have a safe place to conduct the drive through event. If your child enjoyed the activity boxes that you received, please click the link below where you have the opportunity to buy more.
Fox 61 news also made a surprise appearance and put together a wonderful piece on the event. Check out the link!
In closing, all of us from the Department want to wish you a happy and safe New Year and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2021!
