Town of Manchester Receives ICMA Certification of Distinction

Manchester, CT: On Wednesday, July 22nd, the Town of Manchester was awarded the ICMA
Certificate of Distinction in Performance Management. ICMA awards certificates each year to recognize municipal programs that instill a culture of performance management, pursue
comparative analysis and data-informed decision-making, and promote transparency. Among the following three levels of certification, the Town of Manchester has successfully made its way to ‘Distinction.’

The Town of Manchester’s performance measures enable town officials and senior management to make more informed and data-driven decisions. Manchester’s Budget Office collects data based on measurable goals, analyzes patterns, facts, and insights, and utilizes findings to develop strategies that benefit the town in a number of ways.

“ICMA’s recognition of Manchester’s performance measurement initiative is the culmination of over a decade of dedicated effort from staff members and leaders across all Town departments, and reflects a shared commitment to transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness in providing quality services to its residents,” states Brian Wolverton, Budget & Research Officer of the Budget Office.
