Mindfulness Buzz...

Mindfulness has been a buzzword for a while now. We hear it a lot and how important it is for staying mentally healthy. But, what exactly does that mean? When I googled it, this is what came up: 

“mind·ful·ness – /ˈmīn(d)f(ə)lnəs/ – noun

  1. the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.”their mindfulness of the wider cinematic tradition”
  2. a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.”

In simpler terms, for me, it means being present. Staying in the moment. Not thinking about
what’s happening later today or tomorrow or next week or next month or next year.
